Warehouse Receipts System (WRS)

A warehouse receipt system (WRS) enables farmers to deposit storable grains in exchange for a warehouse receipt. This document issued by TOTCO as evidence that specified commodities of stated quantity and quality have been deposited at a particular location.

TOTCO’s Warehouse Receipt System allows farmers access finance using their grains as a collateral thus being able to yield more. Under a WRS, a warehouse receipt (WR) is issued to a named depositor (who may be a farmer, farmer group, processor or trader) as evidence that he or she has deposited a specified commodity, of stated quantity and quality, at a specified location.
